USTA ZATs (Zone Advancement Tournaments)
and Champs (For Players Age 8 – 18)
Playing a ZAT is a first step towards achieving a state ranking. At the ZAT level, there are up to five tournaments per month in different areas around the state. Players can compete in any ZAT, but can only compete in one ZAT per month. After accumulating 65 points at the ZAT level during a 12-month period, a player qualifies for the city Championship division (Champs) and simultaneously loses their eligibility to compete in the ZATS or Gran Prix.
Once a player has achieved the Champs level, they can advance to the Super Championship division, the highest level in the state, by achieving:
| For 12 and under | 65 points in 4 best tournamments over 12 months |
| For 14-18 | 80 points in 3 best tournaments over 12 months |
